Interesting Facts Originally a 9 hole golf course named "Springs Mines and West Springs Golf Club" the course was extended into 18 holes and renamed "Pollak Park Golf Course" in the honour of late Major Pollak, funder of Anglo American Corporation. Ownership of the club was handed over to the members by Anglo American in 1975. The first captain of PPGC was Mr George Moll, whose name is perpetuated by the larger than normal Bluegum tree planted by him approximately 50m ahead of the 18th tee box. The course underwent an extensive conditioning programme in 2005 and now boasts one of the premium tracks on the East Rand. Predominantly lined with Bluegum trees, the course layout offers golfers a classic parkland challenge. Renouwed for its excellent putting surfaces, warm hospitality and efficient service, Pollak Park is a great golfing destination and a must play.

Take the N12 towards Witbank, taking the Springs/Daveyton off-ramp. Turn right over the bridge and proceed straight along the R51 for about 11 km (you pass the fresh produce market and the Pilkington Glass factory). Turn right over a fly-over crossing over the railway line, staying on the R51. At the traffic light turn left into Springs Main Road West - at the first traffic light turn right into Tonk Meter Drive. The course is about 300 m further on your right. Or off the N17 take the Tonk Meter off-ramp, turn right, about one and a half kilometers just past the hospital, and the course is on your left.
