Interesting Facts Golfers are astounding by the breathtaking beauty of the par-72 Lost City Golf course. The rich green fairways give a dramatic contrast to the bushveld backdrop and the barren waste bunkers are a special feature of this intriguing course.
The desert style design of the golf course has an exotic allure all of its own and designer, Gary Player has acknowledged it as one of his favourite courses.
The Lost City Golf Course is flexible: playing off the forward tee a course length of 5 953 metres, extending to 6 983 metres off the back tee. The course provides spectacular views.
The most hazardous area of the Lost City Golf Course is the 13th hole. Inhabiting the water hazard are 38 crocodiles, some of them nearly two metres long. Golfers are discouraged from retrieving their wayward balls from the croc infested pool. The unusual water hazard is just one of the features that make the Lost City Golf Course exciting and interesting to play. No effort was spared to make the course a masterpiece.
Playing the back nine is like going on a golf safari. It has often been noted that the game is more exciting when played downhill and this is certainly the case here. In addition to the previously mentioned 13th, holes eleven, fourteen, fifteen and sixteen are all played from elevated tees offering thrill, excitement and challenge to the golfer. And some of the most spectacular African views to be had on a golf course.
On the whole a round at Lost City is an experience which one will not easily forget. But it doesn't end with the golf.

Travel north along William Nicol Drive to Fourway Intersection at Witkoppen Road. Turn left into Witkoppen Road passing the Fourways Mall on your right. At the first set of traffic lights, turn right into Cedar Avenue. Proceed for 8.5 km to T-junction. Turn left and take first right-hand turn. Proceed 2 km to T-junction passing over the R28 freeway. Turn right at the T-junction into R512. Carry on until the next T-junction (R27) passing Lanseria Airport Turnoff. Turn left on the R512 to Magaliesburg. 9.4 km furthern on, turn right (R512) towards Brits. Cross the railway line and onto the bridge over Hartebeespoort Dam. At the T-junction turn right (R512) to Brits. Travel to a major 4-way Stop. Turn left towards Brits and Rustenburg. Pass the first turn-off to Brits. Pass the R27 Road on the right and the sign boards Sun City 89 km. Travel straight on for approx. 10 km to reach sign board: Sun City 79 km. Turn right, cross the Highway for a direct route to Sun City (79 km).
